There are two stretches in the year, one in spring and one in fall, when nothing in the closet is right. The winter coat is absurd and the cardigan does not hold anything out, so you go back and forth between being too warm and being cold, usually in the same afternoon. A full-length zip runs from hem to chin, and the ribbed collar stands high enough to cover the neck when you close it. The hem curves down at the sides, and the cut is relaxed enough to go over a sweater.

Relaxed with a curved hem, in S through 3XL. Take your usual size, which already allows for a layer underneath. If you are between two, take the larger one, because a quilted front has no give at all and the zip needs to close comfortably over a sweater rather than just over a shirt.
